Important: these are Unicode characters that visually resemble styled letters. They are not the same as applying a bold or italic font in a word processor.

How to make bold text for social media

1. Enter your text

Type or paste the words you want to style.

2. Choose a style

Compare bold, italic, sans-serif and monospace variants.

3. Copy and paste

Select Copy and paste the result into the destination.

Why doesn't **bold** work on Facebook?

Asterisks around words are only interpreted as formatting on services that support that particular markup syntax. In many social-media text fields, the asterisks simply remain visible.

This generator takes a different approach. It substitutes supported Latin letters and numbers with visually styled Unicode characters, allowing the appearance to survive ordinary copy and paste.

Where can I use generated text?

You can try the generated text in social posts, captions, profile bios, messages, headings and other fields that accept Unicode text. Display can vary depending on the platform, operating system and available fonts.

Does it work with numbers?

Bold, Sans Bold and Monospace include styled digits. Some other mathematical Unicode alphabets do not provide a separate styled digit set, so ordinary digits are retained in those outputs.

What happens to punctuation and other languages?

Characters for which the selected style has no corresponding mapped form are left unchanged. This includes most punctuation and many non-Latin characters.

Your text stays in your browser.

The conversion is performed by JavaScript on this page. The Bold Text Generator does not need to send the text you enter to a GILKUT conversion API.

Are these actual fonts?

No. The output uses distinct Unicode characters rather than downloading or applying a font. This is why the visual style can remain when the characters are copied into another compatible text field.

Should I use styled Unicode everywhere?

It is best used selectively for short headings, emphasis, captions or decorative text. Styled Unicode characters may be handled differently by search systems, screen readers and older software, so important names, long passages and accessibility-critical text are often better left as normal characters.

Frequently asked questions

Is this tool free?

Yes. You can generate and copy the available styles directly from this page.

Do I need to install a font?

No font download is required. The generator outputs Unicode characters.

Why does a character sometimes stay normal?

Not every character has a corresponding version in every Unicode style. Unsupported characters are intentionally preserved instead of being removed.

Can I convert long text?

Yes, although styled characters are usually most useful for shorter text such as headings, captions and selected words.
